Walk the Halls 2023

The STAR Business Council invites you to join us for our 5th Biennial Walk the Halls Day at the Texas State Capitol in Austin on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023. Please plan on spending the day in Austin, starting at 10am, and please sign up for our training webinar if you are able to attend. You will be able to go home Tuesday afternoon knowing that your work is important to Texas.

The STAR Business Council continues to build on our success in promoting the economic benefits of recycling and recycling-related business activity in Texas to State of Texas elected officials. In 2019, SB 649 was adopted requiring TCEQ to complete a Recycling Market Development Plan (RMDP). That plan was created and published on August 31, 2021, and can be found here. We are working to promote a complete examination of the RMDP and its recommendations through the creation of the Recycling Market Development Advisory Task Force. This Task Force will provide programmatic and policy recommendations to eliminate barriers to and expand the economic benefits of a sustainable recycling system in Texas.
