Never before has the connection between recycling and product manufacturing been so important. As states and communities began to limit individual exposure to the coronavirus in March, manufacturers in the U.S. mobilized to ensure they would have access to the feedstock they need to make their products. The industry contacted their suppliers and regulators, making the connection between recyclables and the essential products required for the grocery and medical industries, as well as tissue and toweling products. This effort resulted in Homeland Security modifying its essential services guidance to include the designation of recycling as an essential service, as part of the manufacturing supply chain.
On this webinar hear manufacturers talk about their efforts. Our speakers will also talk about how we can use this opportunity to connect the dots for consumers between placing clean recyclables into their recycling bins and the impact on the supply chain for basic goods and emergency supplies.
